Marching band was originally performing instrumental songs with instruments by travelling musicians throughout the prehistoric world. It was implemented within armies of early city-states where was the reason why marching band marched in unison and in synchronization. Hence, it became the basis for the military band.

At this rate, as musicians appeared less important on battlefield, the band moved into a higher rate. Instrumentation and music was added into marching band, called as modern brass band yet it evolved military tradition. In simple track “Many military traditions survive in modern marching band”. However, uniforms of many marching bands still resemble military uniforms.
